Seasonal hair loss: to prevent, to cure or to cut?

Have you ever noticed that with the change of seasons your hair loss is more intensive? For most ladies it is not pleasant to look at the comb every day and see how much hair they have lost. And the saddest thing is that such nuisance occurs every autumn. Why does this happen, and how to stop autumn hair loss? CVmatograph looked into with this issue.

Why hair falls out

Oddly enough, but in the autumn, many suffer from a lack of vitamins. This is explained by a sharp change in the diet - from vegetables and fruits to foods that have more in fats and simple carbohydrates. The body can respond by body weight gaining, stress, mood swings, and hair loss.

At risk are also people in whose diet low amounts of plant fats and proteins. Thinner hair, dullness and hair loss are signs of a lack of these elements in the body.

During the autumn, some people suffer from mood swings and depression. This is due to a sharp weather change, a decrease in number of sunny days, returning from vacation ...

The mechanism of action of stress on the hair is as follows - during emotional tension, muscle spasm "squeezes" the hair root, and it no longer receives all the nutrients in the same volume. Over time it weakens the hair, and they fall out.

Cold weather

If in a cold weather you like to go out without a head cover, be prepared that your scalp blood circulation will decrease. This gradually leads to a lack of nutrition of hair follicles, which will become a catalyst for the hair loss. This is easy to avoid - it is enough to put on a hat or a scarf on your head with the onset of cold weather.

Hormonal disbalance

If hair loss for women is accompanied by sudden mood swings, irregularity and pain during the monthly cycle, acne, it may indicate about hormonal disruption. In this case, consult a doctor, a gynaecologist and an endocrinologist.

Prevention of seasonal hair loss

The influence of the season on hair condition is an individual matter. However, regardless of whether influence in each specific case, you should not give up. The following precautions are relevant for any season:

Provide protection and a healthy microclimate for hair. Wearing hats made from natural materials that do not squeeze the hair; the use of masks and special cosmetic procedures (like lamination); washing your hair with water of an optimal temperature (warm); using soft combs that do not injure the skin, this all will help. To combat dry indoor air, use a humidifier and do not overuse high temperature styling or dyeing.

Provide adequate hair nutrition, including saturation with vitamins and microelements. The principles of proper nutrition are important, also you shouldn’t strive for an excessive weight loss and resort to mono diets.

Apply special care products for hair and scalp with a rich nutritional composition. It is necessary to drink enough water, eat fresh vegetables and fruits, food rich in proteins, take vitamin and mineral supplements in the off-season.

Providing additional care: special scalp massages, darsonvalization, mesotherapy will help to solve accumulated problems and restore shine, strength and elasticity to your locks.

Set aside for some time some hair styling products, do not dry your hair with a hot air and reduce usage of styling devices with high temperatures.

Regardless of the time of year, remember that there is no excessive hair loss happening without reasons. Take care of yourself and your hair!
